You may be asking yourself, "What is this Nocturnum thing?" I'm happy to answer.
"Nocturnum: Chicago" is an RPG campaign based on the late "Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Angel" Role Playing game created by Eden Studios that I will be running, or directing according to the Core Rulebook, in the immediate future.
"Oh, so you're going to be playing as the characters from those classic shows. Lame." Don't be quick to judge, as the players I've amassed have created all new characters that have nothing to do with one Ms. Buffy Summers or some surly emo vampire named Angel. There are no Slayers, no Watchers and no one is a superpowered demi-god. Everyone is a normal person with everyday problems that just so happen to run into supernatural shenanigans routinely.
"More Hellmouth garbage?" Nope. Well, possibly. Haven't made my mind up on that topic yet, but the game takes place in Chicago, actually the Bucktown/Logan Square area, and uses familiar people, places and events currently going on there to add flavor and a sense of reality to the proceedings. This is due to my feeling that this is something that is lacking in a lot of the other RPGs I currently play.
So what do an ex-combat medic-turned-paramedic, a librarian who fancies herself a magick-user, a petty thief and a college drop-out who was recently bitten by a werewolf have in common? This will be the place to find out as I post a summary of each gaming session.
Come back often and enjoy!
